Will Facebook Ever Charge for Its Service? [POLL]

Shortly after Facebook announced new features at F8 on Sept. 22, rumors surfaced, claiming that Facebook will start charging for the service.

The rumors are unfounded, and Facebook confirmed that the social network is “free and always will be.”

However, things change. Who knows what direction Facebook will take in the coming years? Another social networking service, Ning, switched from freemium to premium.

What do you think? Vote in the poll below and share your opinions in the comments.

Here are the changes Facebook is making to profiles, free of charge, in the gallery below:

The New Facebook Profile: Timeline

Timeline is a radical departure from previous versions of the Facebook user profile. The most prominent feature is the addition of a cover photo at the top of the page. Users can change this to whatever they'd like it to be.
